Inherit the Earth employs Christian “outreach chaplain(s)” to provide street-level pastoral care for the homeless and at-risk population. By “street-level” we mean that clergy are “actively available” to this population through, but not limited to, the following: volunteering with other organizations which provide services to these individuals (i.e. drop-in centers, food banks, churches, etc.), facilitating meetings with individuals and groups, and engaging in lay counseling and case-management. The Outreach Chaplaincy also takes on the traditional forms of more conventional pastoral work where appropriate (i.e. leading Bible studies, worship services). All of these activities are intentionally directed towards fostering Christ glorifying and Gospel shaped relationships that create more health, virtue, and beauty in people’s lives.
